A whistler statue summons him to Elizabeth's room and her lack of response as she uses a key brought by Booker to open a door for them to escape alerts him to the presence of an intruder. Unaware to Elizabeth, Comstock remotely controlled Songbird with statues of himself located at key places, which were programmed with a musical tune that, when played, summoned Songbird to the statue's vicinity.Īs soon as Booker reaches Elizabeth at Monument Island after fighting his way across Columbia when he is exposed as the "False Shepherd", Songbird becomes a major threat and impediment to the pair's journey. However, as Elizabeth grew older and started to yearn for freedom and to see the outside world, she began to resent Songbird and came to realize that he was not so much her protector as he was her captor instead, then started plotting her escape by learning the art of lockpicking and trying to control her Tear-creating powers, which were being limited by the tower's Siphon.
